1. Start Game
When the app loads, you’ll see Game Preferences. Choose your settings (or use the defaults) and tap Start Game.
2. Opening Gambit
Player 1 (P1) starts the game by setting the Game Preferences, and then begins the round by choosing an initial valid pattern of notes from the available 12-note set (0–11). This pattern is the Opening Gambit and sets the music + math clue for solving the puzzle.
3. Game Play
The game can be played solo or with two players.
After P1 makes the Opening Gambit, Player 2 (P2) uses the structure of P1’s initial pattern — and some very simple arithmetic — to find all the correct matches.
- Goal: Find all patterns that match the Opening Gambit.
- If correct: the pattern locks and the player scores a point.
- If incorrect: the selections reset and the scoreboard switches players.
The highest score wins.
4. Controls
- New Game: change settings and start a fresh game
- Timer: shows elapsed time for the round
- Play: hear solved patterns again
5. Finish
When complete, the solved game board plays in the order solved as a full sequence of chords or scales/arpeggios, depending on the current mode.
