HOW TO PLAY
Harmony Finder is a word search for music. Instead of words, you hunt for a chord or scale hidden in a grid of numbered, colored squares.
Start options
Tonic is the home note. Every number in the grid counts half steps up from it: 0 is the tonic, 4 is four half steps above, and so on. The colors show the actual pitch.
Voices is how many notes you are hunting for, from 3 to 8: 3 for a triad, 4 for a seventh or sixth chord, 5 for a ninth, 6 for an eleventh, 7 for a mode, 8 for the bebop and diminished scales.
Quality is which chord or scale to find. The list changes with Voices, and each choice shows its numbers beside its name.
Instrument is the sound the notes play with. Vibraphone is the default.
Solving
The Search: key at the top shows the numbers to find. Press ▶ Play to hear them. Tap one to hear that note and see where it sits in the grid.
Look for those numbers side by side in a straight line: across, down or on an exact diagonal, either direction, in any order, each number once.
Drag from the first square to the last. A correct find is circled and played. Finds can cross and share squares.
The counter shows how many you have found. Find them all to hear the finale, and press Play to hear it again.
Stuck? Show outlines the ones you have not found, and Hide puts them away. New, at the far right, starts over with fresh settings.
